| What's New: Damn near everything. |
This work is the result of a two-year long collaboration between a French surgeon, Anne Frobert, and an American businessman, Richard Everett. Although half a world apart, we were joined by the bond of a common enemy - we both had Parkinson's Disease. We were also convinced that there was a solution and that it lay in the mountain of research data that had accumulated in recent years at a rate surpassing the ability of the medical community to integrate it. And so we set out to find it - the cure for PD. Some of you may have heard the term "Parkinson's personality." Although not universal and often dismissed as a fable, we assure you that it exists. PWP tend to be "take charge and get it done" types. And so we did. We combined the work that we were already pursuing individually and immersed ourselves in the literature. And, while we have not found the cure, yet, we have evolved a new understanding of PD that just may lead to that Grail. We had several advantages-
And so we labored. But we lacked many things. No labs, No assistants. Not even an "Athens" account. And we lacked time. PD is a progressive disorder and as the months passed it took its toll. And so we reached the point where we knew that we had done as much as we could do and it was time to seek help in the concluding phase of our labors. And so, we hand it on to you. Make of it what you will. | A Word About Preconceptions and, Yes, Prejudice We
engaged in no little conversation regarding whether or not to reveal
this to be a patient created site. Even though one of our number is an
MD, there are those who will automatically dismiss our work simply
because we battle the disease. Not to put too fine an edge to it - That is, to be kind, preposterous! We have relied upon the works of established scientists and peer reviewed journals. We have the added advantages of personal observation of our own bodies. And we are generalists and, therefore, have a unique viewpoint. In short, we just may have seen something new. |
