A Matter of Balance - A Blog
http://parkinsonsonline.org/blog1/
There are two venues for discussion. One is Caduceus just below this and is intended to be for general Community discussion and support. The other venue is the blog linked above. It is intended to be a somewhat structured environment of a "techie" nature. Please feel free to use both.

Caduceus - Part Pub, Part Cafe - A place to talk.
The Caduceus of Mercury has been linked to medicine for over twelve centuries. Two serpents entwined about one staff invokes the Eastern idea of duality. While many interpretations can come from this, here it is the interaction of two minds yielding knowledge. There lies our goal.

The Parkinson's - Stress Project
We know that stress has a big role in PD that is only now being looked at. If you are a PWP, it is likely that you are hypersensitive to stress and that stressors such as confrontation dramatically increase your symptoms. It is also likely that, compared to the general population, you have had a much higher level of stress in your life. We feel these to be important clues and work to make sense of them here.

A Summation
For those in a hurry we begin at the end.
"When, however, the nature of the subject, and the circumstances under which it has been here taken up, are considered, it is hoped that the offering of the following pages to the attention of the medical public, will not be severely censured. The disease, respecting which the present inquiry is made, is of a nature highly afflictive. Notwithstanding which, it has not yet obtained a place in the classification of nosologists; some have regarded its characteristic symptoms as distinct and different diseases, and others have given its name to diseases differing essentially from it; whilst the unhappy sufferer has considered it as an evil, from the domination of which he had no prospect of escape." A New Look at Parkinson's
The search for a single cause will fail if there are multiple causes. After 200 years it is time we realized that a new look is needed and that far more than a tiny area of the brain and a single neurotransmitter are involved.
